A low-fire glaze, Classic Crackles are designed to create crackle patterns or "craze" during the firing process. Traditionally used to create a vintage or antique appeal, the subtle surface cracks that develop in the finished glaze adds a level of sophistication and dimension to your designs that is perfect for home décor. Increase complexity by using in combination with other glazes or design work. To highlight the cracks, after firing wipe an acrylic or ink over the ware and wipe off, allowing the ink to highlight cracking effects. Another glaze can also be used to fill in the cracks by wiping the desired glaze into the cracks with a clean rag and refiring to cone 06.
